As a mentor and consummate advocate for our youth, Attorney Bostick spends countless hours each year pouring into young men in the South Florida area to teach them how to navigate life. In an annual series titled “Know Your Rights,” Attorney Bostick partners with local and federal law enforcement, attorneys, judges, Black Greek Letter Organizations, and advocacy groups/organizations to teach our youth how best to interact with law enforcement.
As displayed in the below videos from some of our previous seminars, our youth are taught their constitutional rights, the importance of Miranda Warnings, how to engage with law enforcement, and are run through several scenarios to help enforce the lessons taught during the seminar. Moreover, Attorney Bostick, with community advocates, helps to foster healthy relationships and a better understanding between local law enforcement and our community.
As expressed by past participants (e.g., attorneys, judges, parents, youth, and law enforcement), “these Know Your Rights seminars that Attorney Bostick holds are helping to save lives.” Throughout each Know Your Rights seminar held by Attorney Bostick, participants will hear a consistent theme from presenters — “we want our youth and law enforcement to get back to their homes the same way they left their homes, in one piece and alive…” Attorney Bostick’s ultimate goal is to ensure that the next generation of youth understands their rights as citizens and for law enforcement to understand how best to engage with those citizens.
